Hey Guys! Ready for another cardmaking idea? ❤️ Let’s make two different cards using Short Cut Card Sketch #31, part of our 2026 September-December Catalog Paper Sampler series!
I’ll show you two handmade card ideas using different Designer Series Papers and a few creative twists to make the same sketch work for different designs.
Card 1: Greenery Birthday Card
For the first card, I paired the Wrapped Greenery Bundle with the Hearth & Home Designer Series Paper from the holiday catalog to create a layered birthday card.
Instead of cutting Hearth & Home Designer Series Paper into separate squares, I combined different patterns in larger sections to create an interesting layered background. After creative cutting, I gave the whole card sketch a TWIST. Do you see it?
Crafty girls do what they want! These card sketches are a place to start, not a bunch of rules set in stone.
Card 2: Fall ‘Hey’ Card
For the second card, I used the Painted Pumpkins Bundle with Autumn Opulence Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ U!s online exclusive collection to create a friendly “Hey” card.
Both cards show how you can use the same card sketch with different stamps, paper and ink to create two very different cards.
