Hey Guys! Welcome back to our Paper Sampler & Sketch Series! Today we’re creating another card using Short Cut Card Sketch #27, but this time we’re giving it a completely different look using the beautiful Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper from the May Online Exclusives collection.
One of my favorite things about card sketches is seeing just how versatile they can be. In our first project, we created a cheerful celebration card with balloons. Today, we’re taking the very same sketch and transforming it into a fun summer themed card featuring the Splash & Relax Bundle.
That’s what I love about sketches, you start with the same foundation, but end up with something entirely new!
The Inspiration Behind Today’s Card
When I looked at the gingham paper from the Homemade Sweetness collection, I immediately saw a beach blanket. Pair that with a Crumb Cake card base that reminded me of warm sand, and the whole card started to come together in my mind.
Instead of using the fruit and honey themed images often associated with this paper collection, I wanted to challenge myself to use it in an unexpected way. The result is a bright, playful summer card filled with beach day essentials.
