I am so excited to be getting ready for my Valentine Party and Card Class! I have missed my paper crafts and crafty friends so much! I am decking the halls all out with Valentine’s Day decor. I want a festive atmosphere for my reopening! I just finished these pretty heart pocket Valentines Day Decorations. I did a picture tutorial when I made the second pocket. I hope you enjoy the tutorial. Please let me know if you make this pretty Valentine’s Day decor. It’s not too late to RSVP for the Valentine Party and Card Class:
Friday, January 24th at 1:00 PM or
Monday, January 27th at 6:30 PM or
Tuesday, January 28th at 6:30 PM
Step One:
Here is what you need, all supplies are from A Muse Studio
Bubblegum Felt (EAFT203) cut with Big Heart Die Set (TAD0046) Cut TWO hearts.
Vanilla Felt (EAFT002) cut with Butterfly Trio Die Set (TAD0002) Cut small and Medium Butterfly.
Vanilla Felt (EAFT002) cut with Big Heart Die Set (TAD0046) Cut love sentiment.
Cherry Felt (EAFT204) cut with Nestabilities Spiral Blossoms 4 (TSB4364)
Sage Felt (EAFT501) cut with Flowers Die Set 2 (TAD0031) Cut THREE of the largest leaf.
Cherry Silky Crush Ribbon (RACR204) 4 1/2 feet – cut in half.
Onyx Dots Twinkle Stickers (EATW100)
Crystal Clear Glaze (EACL000)
Sewing Machine and White Thread
Step Two:
Roll Cherry Felt flower. Starting from the small point at one end of the spiral, roll tightly until you reach the wide round base at the other end of the spiral. Then Adhere with Crystal Clear glaze as show:
Arrange leaves as show and adhere flower again using Crystal Clear Glaze.
Step Three:
Using Crystal Clear Glaze adhere “love” sentiment to one of the Bubblegum hearts. Also adhere four of the largest Onyx Dot Twinkle stickers on the medium butterfly as shown here:
I decided to add a small Vanilla Felt butterfly on the second pocket. It’s not pictured here. If you are going to add the second butterfly, now is a good time to embellish the small butterfly with three medium Onyx Dot Twinkle Stickers.
Step Four:
Cut the Cherry Silky Crush Ribbon in half. Fold one end in half ‘hot dog way’ and then in half hot dog way again. You are reducing the width of the ribbon by three quarters, making attaching it to the heart easier. Once you have the end folded put it under the presser foot of your sewing machine and sew back and forth a few times.
Step Five:
Pin the reduced end of the ribbon in between the two Bubblegum Felt hearts. Machine sew to form a pocket. Be sure to back stitch the beginning and end of your machine sewing to further secure the ribbon and stitches.
Step Six:
Use Crystal Clear Glaze, embellish the heart pocket with the flower and butterflies. Put a little piece of wax or parchment paper inside the pocket to keep glaze from soaking through the layers. Tie the Cherry Silky Crush Ribbon in a big bow and hang. I have one on each of the closet doors in my new studio. Happy Valentines Day Crafting!
