Hey Guys! Happy New Year! I am fighting a cold so my New Year was very low key this year. Usually Max and I host a party. We drink and eat and talk and play, but not this year! I spent New Year’s Eve crafting then couch sitting in my pajamas.
I assembled my first Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit on New Year’s Eve. It’s the one I received in my Stampin’ Up! Flex Kit starter kit. I thought I would review it and share some pictures with you today.
The kit contained all the pieces (pre-cut, scored and some adhesive backed where necessary) for:
The kit also contained:
Paper Pumpkin costs $19.99 per month, that includes the shipping cost. You can save up to $2 per month by subscribing for up to a year prepaid. Learn more or subscribe to Paper Pumpkin here.
I was very happy with the value. I was very happy with the projects in this particular kit. I feel the designs were professional, the color combination was pleasing and the projects were useful.
I didn’t put the projects together exactly according to the instructions, and I did add a few things to the kit. I don’t think that there will be a Paper Pumpkin that I will assemble exactly according to the instructions, remember Crafty Girls Do What They Want…right?!
The first thing I did was grab two more Stampin’ Pads, Emerald Envy and Pool Party. I felt the Bermuda Bay only was a little flat. The two additional colors added some dimension to my stamping. You can see in the A2 cards how I used the additional Stampin’ Pads.
I also found that my Bermuda Bay Ink Spot was relatively dry. It was the biggest disappointment I had with Paper Pumpkin. I will call Stampin’ Up! and let them know. Stampin’ Up! customer service is A+. I know they will bend over backward to fix the dry spot problem. More Stampin’ Pads means my Bermuda Bay didn’t have to work quite as hard.
I made the enclosure cards and small gift card envelopes almost according to the instructions. TIP: Before I assembled the last envelope I traced it so I could make more from cardstock later.
The last project was a 4 1/4×5 1/2″ gift card envelope. I don’t need gift card envelopes now so I made the envelope and a coordinated card from the decorative bits. I added Pool Party and Whisper White Cardstock plus some Copper Metallic Thread and Copper Washi Tape from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Collection on Closeout SALE until 1-4-17. I will get more use from these cards right now.
I hope this post was helpful and informative. If you have any questions about Paper Pumpkin, email me! My final word on the subject: I decided to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin. Over all my Paper Pumpkin was a fun and satisfying crafting experience.
Thank you for visiting today. Happy CRAFTY New Year!
