A Muse Studio Hello Die

A Muse Studio Hello Die
Here is another peek at brand new A Muse Studio Spring release products. I love the new Hello Die (TAD0079). It’s just $5.99, and available March 1st. My favorite part about this hello word die is how easy the cut ejects from the die. I was worried that the fine word cut would be ruined wrestling it out of the die – NOT SO! It’s a wonderful tool and no stamper should be without this versatile die. Also brand new from A Muse Studio is Everything’s Rosy 6×6 pattern paper. I can not wait to cut into more of the the 12 brand new patterns! I hope I have inspired you to make some handmade cards!

Snow Hat Treat Bag

A Muse Studio Large Mitten Die
It is snowing like crazy here today. I am glad I am inside. It’s a great day for paper crafts! The weather outside inspired me to share this snow cap treat bag. My snow cap is CASE of Chris Franco’s little cap made from an oval. Instead of an oval, I used the A Muse Studio Large Mitten Die to cut a 3×3 square of A Muse Studio Bermuda Chevron Cardstock into a snow hat shape. I put the cardstock square on the die covering the finger tip end of the mitten. Then I secured it with washi tape so it wouldn’t shift while I cut it. I ran the die through my Big Shot. That left me with a kind of long semicircle. To make my mitten fingers look like a hat, I embellished with A Muse Studio Vanilla Felt, a handmade pompom, and a heart border. The Vanilla Felt is hot dog half of the A Muse Studio Large Stocking Die Set cuff. I covered the edge of the Vanilla Felt with a welded heart border. Check out my last post for a video how to make a welded heart border using A Muse Studio Scalloped Border Die Set and Pinking Border Die Set. The hat makes a great tag for your A Muse Studio Paper Bags. I hope you are staying warm today. Happy paper crafts people!

Candy Cane Heart Pops

Hey Guys! Enjoy this Candy Cane Heart Pop Tutorial! I hope you are enjoying a last couple of days of Valentine Crafts! It’s been a rough week for me. I am going to blog a post for tomorrow too, then I will see you next week. Don’t miss the Sweet Sale you can save a bunch of money on paper crafts supplies from A Muse Studio. SHOP HERE.
A Muse Studio Style
STEP ONE:
Candy Cane Heart Pops
Gather supplies! Mini candy canes (Five Below – Thank you RHONDA!), vanilla bark -so yummy with peppermint (Da Jewels <-- that's Chicago speak), sprinkles (Da Jewels), lolly pop sticks (Hobby Lobby) and food safe treat bags (Hobby Lobby). STEP TWO:
Candy Cane Heart Pops
Set up your mini candy canes in a heart shape. Add a lolly pop stick at the bottom of the heart as pictured. Melt the vanilla bark. I made about 20 candy cane heart pops with four squares of vanilla bark.
STEP THREE:
Valentine
Use a teaspoon to gently pour melted vanilla bark in to candy cane heart form. On a later batch of these pops I learned that touching the candy with the tip of the spoon smooths the heart shape without any mess. Sprinkle while the vanilla bark is still soft and warm.
STEP FOUR:
A Muse Studio Style
Cool completely and bag! I tied my bags with A Muse Studio Organdy Polka Dot Ribbon and embellished with a banner and heart. These make happy little Valentine’s Day crafts and yummy treats. Let me know if you try them.

Homemade Sloppy Joe

Homemade Sloppy Joe
Are you getting tired of seeing what I eat? I wonder. Let me know what you think or if you try any of my recipes. The idea is, if I inspire your cooking and make it easy maybe you will have more time and energy for your paper crafts. Here is a yummy, flexible and easy homemade sloppy joe.

Homemade Sloppy Joe
1 1/2 – 1 3/4 lb ground turkey or lean ground beef
1/2 small onion diced small
1/2 green or red bell pepper diced small
1/2 cup ketchup
8 oz can tomato sauce
1/2 can of tomato paste (about 2 tbsp)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp sugar

Brown ground beef or turkey in a skillet. Add onion and bell pepper and cook an additional 2 minutes until vegetables are tender. Season with a sprinkle of seasoned salt (I use Lawry’s), onion powder and garlic powder. Add ketchup, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar, stir to combine. Bring to a boil then turn down and simmer on low for 15 minutes. Serve on a multi-grain flat roll or hamburger bun. The picture is my left overs as lunch the next day. I usually serve with broccoli or green beans and a garden salad. This is a fast easy dinner and much better then the canned sauce. I hope you enjoy! If you give it a try be sure to let me know what you think.

Happy Friday Guys! I have been making birthday cards over the last couple of days. I am getting ready for my birthday bash card class. Here is one of the birthday card ideas that I made recently. What do you think?
I used A Muse Studio‘s Rosette Die Set for the awning – didn’t it turn out cute? I also added some white on white scallops on the outside of the window. That was just the touch I was looking for to finish the card. I am always looking for that “little something” Scallop edges are a great all season way to finish your card. Easter Card Ideas

Easter Card Ideas
I really wow’d myself with this Easter card. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. It was an experiment really. I was flying by the seat of my pants! I stamped the daffodil image from A Muse Studio ‘He is Risen’ on an A2, top fold, Vellum Cardstock card. I used VersMark ink and embossed it with white powder. It turned out very elegant. Then I decided to color the image. I pulled out my Copic markers and got to work. This is where the experiment part comes in. I am a certified Copic instructor, so I know that you shouldn’t really do a lot of coloring embossed images with your Copic markers. I decided to take a chance and do it anyway. I colored and kept a piece of clean typing paper beside me. After I finished an area with a Copic marker, I scribbled on the scratch paper to keep the tip clean. On the Vellum Cardstock, with the embossing texture, this daffodil looks like it was painted with fine oil paints. It is beautiful! This Easter card is an A2 top fold Vellum Cardstock card with a Lemon Whip A2 top fold card nestled inside. I tied the two cards together with Toffee Twine. The sentiment is stamped and embossed on Kraft cardstock and then shadowed with some W2 Copic marker. If you decide to try this technique be sure to use care and keep your markers clean! I hope you enjoy these Easter card ideas. Happy Copic coloring!

Apple, White Cheddar and Dried Cherry Bibb Salad

Easy and Delicious Recipe

I love this salad with a grilled or sauteed chicken breast. It’s a super quick, fresh and delicious dinner that will leave tons of time for paper crafts!

Apple, White Cheddar and Dried Cherry Bibb Salad
This is four servings as a side salad or a nice dinner for two especially with a couple of grilled or sauteed chicken breasts.
1 head of bibb lettuce rinsed and torn into bite size peices
1 large gala apple cut into bite size cubes
1/3 cup of dried cherries
1/4 cup of roughly chopped walnuts
1/3 cup of good white cheddar shredded on a box grater
about 1/4 cup of Aldi Grandessa Signature Raspberry Vinaigrette – this stuff is the best bottled salad dressing ever. I make my own salad dressing, I don’t like store bought stuff. I am not sure how I first tried this, but it is a staple in my house. Try it. Serious.
Optional:
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
Lawry’s Season Salt
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Season chicken breasts with season salt, onion powder and garlic powder. Saute in olive oil until done. I usually pepper my chicken after turning it over to avoid burning the pepper. Set aside.
Tear bibb lettuce, chop apples and layer in a deep dish. Sprinkle on cherries, walnuts and cheddar. If you are adding chicken, chop it into bite size pieces and top salad. Drizzle with Raspberry Vinaigrette. Serve with some warm multi-grain baguette, if you want. Enjoy the recipe. Please let me know how you like it if you give it a try!
