I just wanted to pop in with a quick masculine birthday card to share. I love to color and I love the quirky, cute A Muse Studio style! I think that A Muse Studio’s Under the Big Top is the best of both worlds! I colored the ring master with PrismaColor Pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. The confetti around his feet was made by dotting Copic Markers – I think it’s an easy way to make any image a little more festive!
Here’s a supply list for this masculine birthday and card.

Paper: A Muse Studio Burrano, Bermuda and Papya, Sage Petite Polka Dot and Sugar Cardstock

The treat looks HUGE in the photo, but it’s really only about 2 inches wide. Inside is a Hershey Nugget candy. I am loving the brand new jingle bells – they are one of the newest products available from A Muse Studio. The treat features the 8mm jingle bells and the card is sportin’ the 6mm jingle bells. CUTE, huh?!

Happy Saturday! What a great day! I started my day with an A Muse Studio brunch and stamping workshop at 10 am in the city. My hostess was great – she parked my mini van on her crowded Chicago street! I tell ya after driving a 200sx for years finding a spot and parallel parking the beast was not going to be fun or fast. While Danae parked my bus, I set up for the girls. We made the CUTEST birthday cards. If you are interested in getting the girls together for a morning of coffee, sweet rolls and STAMPING, email me or give a call (847)922-6795. Hostesses get great benefits, guests make some great cards they get to keep, and I meet new crafty ladies! Good times had by all!
After the party, I took the kids to the pool for a nice long swim. Dinner was roasted veggies and cheeseburgers. Max bought me hamburger buns from Mariano’s they tasted as beautiful as they looked! It’s a really good day. I can’t wait for the man to get home – it’s SATURDAY! I hope your Saturday was just as good!
I thought I would share a recent card. I did this one for a Magic Pencil Demo at my Chicago Area Rubber Stampers group. Some of the ladies were not familiar with the technique. I have not used the technique to color recently. It was a pleasure to dig out my pencils and color. I knew the minute I saw this image that it was going to be fun to color!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Enjoy the day.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90 percent of the nation’s population. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.”
Last Sunday was the third Sunday of the month – so the Alvarez crew observed with appropriate ceremonies and activities! We loaded up the mini van and went to Dairy Queen for dipped cones! It was the perfect summer vacation activity on a HOT night. It’s not too late to observe National Ice Cream Month. What are your plans?

It was love at first sight when I found Touch of Nature in the A Muse Studio Catalog. It was one of the first stamp sets I bought in 2012. I really love it and I use it. When my second Thursday stamp club decided on One Layer Cards for our swap this month – I was stumped! I am not really super good at ONE LAYER cards…What do they have against layers anyway?! lol.
This is one of the two successful designs I happened to make. I decided not to do this one for stamp club though! I didn’t feel like coloring 15 more! I stamped the Kraft cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. The background is A Muse Studio Sky ink applied with a dauber.
What do you think? Not bad for just one layer…right? Leave a comment if you like it. Maybe I will try the whole one layer thing again!

Stamps: A Muse Studio Touch of Nature
Paper: A Muse Studio Kraft
Ink: A Muse Studio Sky and Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: A Muse Studio Vanilla Organdy Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Prismacolor Pencils
I know – I said I would be back on Monday! I know – it’s Tuesday! I am so glad you guys love me! If you couldn’t make it to my Summer Stamp and Scrap Soiree – we missed you. Here are some pictures from the day. I was too busy having an enjoyable day stamping with friends. I didn’t take a lot of photos. The few I took, I’ll share. If you live in Chicago, the Chicago Suburbs, or if your willing to travel and want to get together with crafty ladies like yourself for a day filled with stamping and scrapbooking, then get on my mailing list! I am planning another crafty day out for a Saturday in October. My mailing list is the first to know everything!
The first picture, above, is an action shot of some of the ladies getting creative. Below is a table before the action. I tried to make it pretty and welcoming. My Kitchen Table Stamper Summer Soiree is a day to get away. I want to make sure everyone has an inspired and relaxed day.
Next up is a photo of the place setting for each crafter.
A SWEET Summer Treat – Starburst candies in an A Muse Studio glassine bag. I cut the watermelon from Grass or Sage and Grapefruit Cardstocks using Mesties Circle and Scallop Circle dies. The stamps are from A Muse Studio’s Sweet Love stamp set – a Valentine theme set. I embellished the watermelon slice with Onyx glitter, Sugar organdy polka dot ribbon, petite daisy paper flowers, and Onyx mini brads.
Each stamper took home a watermelon theme card that was hand made for them by me!
Each stamper got her own watermelon paper poop bag to keep scraps all rounded up and under control. I couldn’t help but stamp it and decorate it to match the theme.
That’s all the pictures I have for you today. I hope they were worth the wait and they inspire you! Thank you for stopping by to see what’s going on around my kitchen table! If you have a party or event coming up, you should browse my webstore! With A Muse Studio products, it’s easy to make any event more special, more personal and more memorable!
What a busy day! I am nearly ready for my Summer Stamping and Scraping Soiree. I just need to pack my personal projects. I picked out some pictures and some stamp sets, but it seems I’ve forgotten how to scrapbook. I think I am stressin’. I might just finish some thank you notes tomorrow. 😉
Here is a card that I made just for fun! I have had A Muse Studio’s Cushioned in Comfort for a long time, but I have only made one card with it. I gave that card away before I got a chance to take a picture. The stamp set was crying out for ink and I was feeling stamp-y. Thanks for stopping by today. I will be swamped this weekend so don’t expect any posts. If I have enough time to take a picture I might surprise you on Sunday – National Ice Cream Day. I made a cute card yesterday in honor of the holiday. Have an excellent weekend.
Here is a supply list for this card.

Don’t forget about all the fun A Muse Studio products on SALE this month! Here is a great Olympic theme project from the A Muse Studio Creative Team. I love this clean and simple sample, but with the tips A Muse Studio published with it – I love it even more! Tip: Don’t have washi tape, use pattern cardstock in it’s place. This design works well for holidays too – spell out ‘BOO’, or ‘JOY’ – or even ‘HI’!

It’s gotta be another super quick post, I have so much to do! I am behind and need to get caught up! I have to make and send my May thank you notes today. It’s terrible – I know. If I really hustle I might get June thank you noted done too…It’s only about 50 cards – I can do it!
Today, I thought I would share my A Muse Studio Red Angry Bird punch art – well really it’s die art, because that’s what I used to make this big guy. Here are some quick instructions:
Start by cutting the body with the largest circle from the Nestabilities Standard Circle Lg. I cut one complete circle from Kraft. I also cut a one from Cherry. Then I ran the Cherry circle back through the machine with the same die to cut the crescent belly. I layered them together and then added the eyes. The Sugar pieces are cut with the second smallest Nestabilities Standard Circle Lg. die. The Onyx eyeball pieces are cut with the very smallest Nestabilities Standard Circle Sm. die. Once I had the eyes adhered on the body, I cut two of the bracket shape word windows using A Muse Studio’s Word Windows die set. I snipped them short and at an angle. They made the perfect angry eye brows. The top of the beak is a 1 1/4 inch Papaya square cut diagonal in half and adhered with 3D foam adhesive. The bottom of the beak is a 1 inch Papaya square cut in half on the diagonal. I adhered the bottom of the beak flat for contrast. The feathers and tail are cut with an old Basic Grey flower die that I had on the shelf. You could check your flower punches too. You are looking for a flower with 6 pointed petals to make the job easy. The banner is embellished with some A Muse Studio Cherry Bakers Twine. The thank you stamp is from A Muse Studio’s Let Freedom Ring. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black. I made over two dozen of these for my son’s birthday thank you. They came together quick and I got lots of complements from those that received them.
