Fruit Tart Cookie Recipe

Kitchen Table Stamper Fruit Tart Cookies
These are so fresh and delicious. The sugar cookie recipe is my own labor of love. It makes an excellent snicker doodle cookie, just roll in to balls, roll in cinnamon sugar and bake 8-10 minutes.

Fruit Tart Cookies
Sugar Cookie
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups butter – I use salted
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat your over to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together and set aside. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time beat until light yellow and fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Roll dough into balls about the size of a walnut. This recipe makes 5 dozen fruit tarts. Press each ball into a mini muffin tin. Be sure to press the bottom and sides thin and go up the entire side of the cup, you really want to define the cup shape, these puff up when they bake. Bake for about 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool in muffin tin and then on a wire rack.
Filling
11 oz of cream cheese – that’s one bar plus 3 ounces
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 Tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
Beat cream cheese in mixer until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar on low in 2 or 3 additions. Stir in lemon juice. Transfer filling to a zip top bag and chill while cookies cool. When cookies are completely cool snip corner off the bottom of the bag and pipe about tablespoon of filling into the sugar cookie shell.
Fruit
1 cup of green grapes diced small
1 cup of strawberries diced small
1 small can of mandarin oranges, drained diced small
1 pint of blueberries
Garnish cookies with bright and colorful fruit. These are a fresh and tasty treat for summer – enjoy!

a handmade birthday card

Under the Big Top
Happy Independence Day! I hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday. I thought I would pop in with a handmade birthday card to share. Having fun with A Muse Studio Crepe Paper. I die cut A Muse Studio Lime, Berry and Papaya Polka Dot Crepe Paper with the medium scallop border and then sewed it down in layers. Notice how I used a lime scallop scrap to make a tutu for the little lady? The A Muse Studio Flowers Die makes the perfect size crepe paper flower embellishments. I have been a busy girl; getting ready for the A Muse Studio National Conference and opening my Etsy Store. I have been a little quite and started to miss you guys. I hope you are inspired to do some card making in your free time this weekend. Oh and please, if you have some time, pop over to my Esty Shop and check it out.
Have a great holiday weekend! Happy 4th of July. God Bless America!

Pirate Party Cupcake Chocolate Treasure Chest Tutorial

Chocolate Treasure Chest Tutorial
Hey Guys! Here is a quick tutorial that has nothing to do with make a card or A Muse Studio – but it sure is fun with the Anchors Aweigh stamp set and a pirate theme party. I came up with this cupcake topper idea and design all myself – no pinterest involved here, this is all me. LOL
Chocolate Treasure Chests Pirate Theme DIY Party Tutorial
Chocolate Treasure Chest Tutorial
Step One:
Unwrap TWO Hershey Nuggets per treasure chest.
Step 1
Step Two:
Cut each set. Cut the top third off of one nugget making both sides flat. Cut the bottom third off of the second nugget leaving one side rounded. This pair makes a chest (flat sides) and a lid (rounded side).
Step 2
Step Three:
Melt a small amount of chocolate chips in your microwave. Stir at 30 seconds and every 10 seconds until melted. Spread a small amount of melted chocolate on to the edge of the nugget of which you cut off the top third. Use the chocolate to adhere the nugget of which you removed the bottom third. Adhere with the rounded side out and up making the chest with lid as shown.
Step 3
Step Four:
Spread some melted chocolate on the flat surface inside the chest.
Step 4
Step Five:
Sprinkle with Wilton Gold Nonparallels.
